BABY REFLEXOLOGY
Brief Description:
Baby Reflexology is a gentle bonding experience that parents can pass onto their infant. This course will show you how to instruct parents to safely apply a gentle reflexology treatment on their infant to aid common ailments and promote calm, relaxation as well as improving sleep patterns. A reflexology qualification is required to enrol on this course as well as an understanding of Anatomy and Physiology.
This course is carried out as a home study course in six modules followed by a test paper after each module.

Course format: Self-paced. There are 6 modules to study at home + case studies.

Attendance: No attendance, this is a distant learning course.
Course content:
Module 1: Health, safety and hygiene within the treatment room, incl. professional ethics, insurance, health and safety acts, risk assessments, how to work hygienically, personal presentation.
Module 2: Client care and communications: How to communicate with your client, dealing with client questions, complaints etc. Consultation techniques.
Module 3: Anatomy & Physiology: The 12 body systems, reflexology and the effect on each body system.
Module 4: Baby Reflexology: objectives, History, About reflexology, benefits, contra-indications, contra-actions, after care advice, treatment planning.
Module 5: Treatment suggestions: Consultation, preparing for treatment, tips for running a clinic, techniques, skin types and conditions, emotions and reflexology, suggested routines (incl. common ailments.)
Module 6: Case Studies: Contains the documents required to complete the case studies. There are 5 treatments to carry out and document for case studies.
Duration: This course is carried out as a home study course and can be started at any time.
This course is approx. 40 hours study (this does vary from student to student.)
Model required?: Case studies = Yes, you will be required to work on models for your case studies.

Additional Costs: You will need to purchase your own products, equipment (i.e. massage couch) and massage oils in order to carry out your case studies. We also recommend you purchase a text book to support your learning, a recommended reading list is supplied with your training pack.
